My Life’s Development

“George”, my baby crow,
and me at age 5
After graduating from Commercial Art in Technical College, 1976, I worked in major advertising agencies, studios and ministries for many years.  When my children were young, freelancing made it possible for me to continue with my career. Later, I began publishing a Christian women’s newsletter/magazine called, “Gleanings” for almost ten years until God moved me into a whole different area  - watercolor painting! It was also the opportune time to own and operate my own gallery. The first one was located in Mound, and then was moved to Maple Plain, MN. in operation for four years until 2005. My watercolor paintings are now displayed in my home studio, Glad Art web site, at
Gallery W  in Long Lake, MN and in exhibitions. My greatest desire is to bring God’s message and to demonstrate it through my art. His handwriting is on the wall !
At the gate for Him I wait,
   serving the Lord with gladness.
...”Like a bird out of the snare of the fowler...we are escaped...
Our help is in the name of the Lord,”- Psalm 124:7,8.  At the age of 5, living in
Golden Valley, Minnesota, I rescued a lost and lonely baby crow. With the help
of my parents, I took care of him. I fed and cuddled him like a baby until he was
grown and transported south for the winter in my aunt’s private airplane. It was
a first class flight for a bird! Not only did I love to draw the birds and animals
home with me, but also draw them on paper with my pencil. “I’m going to be
an artist when I grow up!,” I announced.

I was saved from the snare of the “fowler” and “born again” through Jesus Christ
at age 7. Throughout my life, the Lord has led me in a close walk with Him. At His
well I dip deeply for the water in “living color.” I draw this water that brings freedom
to the soul.

My husband, Mike and I have been married since 1980. We have two sons, Brent                      and Chad. I’m still rescuing birds and animals in my backyard from many snares, but my greatest desire is in the rescuing of God’s people.
