"The Purified Vessel"
"But who can endure the day of His coming?...He will sit as a refiner and purifier
of silver; he will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them...that they may offer to the
Lord an offering in righteousness" - Malachi 3:2,3
God has various kinds of vessels in His house it says in 2 Timothy 2:19-21 that He
uses in which he inscribes the seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," upon its
foundation. He seeks those who are willing to endure the purifying process, to be
sanctified and set apart as vessels of honor for Him.
In my painting, the bluebirds admire the silver vessel and its Maker as they look
towards the light source. The butterflies represent new life in Christ and take
advantage of the droplets of living water that spill from the vessel. The inscription
on the silver vessel says, "You Are Mine Forever."

"Water Vessel with Hydrangeas"
Too many times I have witnessed the attacks of hawks on the birds in my
backyard. I grieve for each of its little victims. The hawk's feather in my painting is
one that I found lying in our yard. Soon the trumpet of God, represented by the
trumpeter swan wood carving, will sound, announcing the arrival of Jesus. The
predator of evil and death of this world is conquered through Him and His Spirit
pours out the water of life. The name "Hydrangea" comes from the Greek
meaning, "water vessel."
"Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer
waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the
early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of
the Lord is at hand."- James 5:7,8

poured out like water. The heart of a person is like stone, represented by the
stone-like bluebird in the painting, made by the hands of man. But when drinking
from the pure water of life, the heart becomes alive and made new in the Spirit, as
the two young bluebirds have come to the water vessel.
"The words that I speak to you,' Jesus said, 'are spirit, and they are life."
"If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink...out of his heart will flow rivers of
living water." -John 6: 63 ; 7: 37,38
"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of
stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." - Ezekiel 36: 25,26
